SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)

A lot of stuff happened in last night’s episode of Scandal and I’m going to try my best to condense it into a conceivable block of text…

We open where we left off last week with Jake and Olivia talking about her father. Olivia pretty much tells Jack she wants not part of any of it; her father, the white house and even Jake. She told him he doesn’t exist to her anymore, harsh. Pope and Associates is struggling to get clients which leads to money issues, so they take on Senator Myers who’s been accused of killing one of the women he frequently sexted.

David is the prosecutor (of course) and is giving the defense a run for their money. The senator’s wife is sticking by her husband claiming he’s definitely innocent. Meanwhile Fitz finds out about the death of Peter Foster and reaches out to his sister arranging to have him buried in the veteran’s cemetery. He begins to feel guilty about whatever happened during Operation Remington and Cyrus tries to get him to leave the pass in the pass.

Mellie finds herself in a scandal with a potential democratic presidential candidate after talking about her unaware that the person she was talking to mic was still on. She ends up apologizing but Cyrus sends his assistant or aide to the woman’s hometown to uncover any dirt on her and this will tie into next week’s episode.

Quinn is obsessed with Huck and she asked a hundred something questions until Huck finally went off on her at the end telling her she doesn’t want this life and to turn away while she can. Jake reaches out to Huck to see if he’d help him try to bring down Commander (Olivia’s daddy). Huck refuses, but Jake still goes out collecting evidence. He record’s her father’s conversation with Cyrus talking about Peter Foster. He takes this information to Olivia but she wants nothing to do with it.

Lurking in the corner, which he seemed to do a lot this episode, Huck took the evidence and connected everything together. It’s important to note that Peter Foster is the guy Olivia’s daddy had Huck kill.

Back to the trial, after another mistress steps forward with allegations that Senator Myers sexted her the previous night his wife goes into hiding. After many failed attempts, Olivia and her team track her down and Olivia has a heart to heart with her to try to convince her to still go on stand. She goes on stand, speaks her truth and gives an alibi for her husband saying they’d fell asleep together. She also said she hated him, thought he deserved to jail but for being unfaithful and that he didn’t kill the girl. The jury finds him not guilty and Senator Myers tells Olivia that his wife’s alibi was wrong because she;d been out at the store.

Putting two to two together she confronts Mrs. Myers and she confesses but says she deserves a second chance; she literally walked away from the whole thing. Jake and Huck show up at Olivia’s apartment and this forces her to look at everything they’d found. She realizes that it’s not a game, she cries, Jake pledges he’s never going anywhere, they kiss and then they’re interrupted by her phone. She answers it and it’s Fitz (of course). He’s still depressed about whatever happened in the past but won’t let Olivia know any details. Jake makes his presence know and they call is ended. We end with Fitz walking through a building and then opening a door to an office that belonged to none other than Olivia’s daddy.

Some takeaways…

– I’m not here for annoying wannabe killer Quinn. I do like that spin on her character but this episode it came off as totally annoying.

– I’m team Jake all day so I’m glad that he’s sticking around for a little bit.

– I want to know what Operation Remington is. There are so many bits to the story and I just want them to tell us.
