Since my last personal fitness tale a lot has changed. I was kind of on a weight loss plateau doing cardio, yoga and walking/jogging. I’ve recently changed up my workout routine and I’m seeing results!

I walk/jog at least 3 times a week doing a little over 3 miles. I still do some cardio about twice a week, but the biggest change has been incorporating weight lifting and toning exercises. I don’t use super heavy weights, just 5-10 pounds and use that resistance to work on my abs, tone my arms and tone my legs. I can definitely tell a difference in the look and feel of my arms and abdomen.

Other than that I have just been eating healthy. I won’t lie, I have a treat every once in a while but my groceries consist of mostly fresh produce. I utilize the perimeter method while shopping. I shop the perimeter of the store first; this usually consists of fresh vegetables, fruits, meat and dairy. I then only get necessities from the middle of the store like quinoa, water and Morningstar/Quorn products. Shopping this way has definitely changed, not only how I shop, but also how I eat.

Moving forward I plan to incorporate more walking/running up to 6 miles, continue toning and replace one meal with juicing or a natural smoothie. How is your journey going so far? Share your stories and experience below or tweet us in the side bar using hashtag #GlamandFit!
