ALADDIN IS THE BELOVED STORY WE KNOW WITH A FEW TWISTS
It wasn’t a secret that I went into seeing Aladdin with a few hesitations and concerns. My concerns mostly revolved around Aladdin and my discussion on this week’s episode dives more into that. You’ll definitely want to listen to the entire episode because I address the lukewarm critic response, the audience reception and of course my thoughts on the film.

Like the live action Disney movies that preceded this one, Jasmine (Naomi Scott) gets a progressive twist. This includes a new song, Speechless, that shows her standing up and resisting being silenced. Aladdin (Mena Massoud) still seems to come off as a charming thief with slick parkour moves and adorable nerves. Will Smith delivers as a fun Genie with jokes and good timing that seemed to be a crowd pleaser.
FINAL THOUGHTS?
Overall, I can’t really complain about the final product. I didn’t really have low expectations but they definitely weren’t high. This surpassed what I entered the theater with and for that I’m giving this a solid A.
