THE BATTLE OF WINTERFELL

We’re at the midway point for the final season Game of Thrones. The battle we’ve all been waiting for took place during episode 3 “The Long Night” and it left us all with mixed emotions. Of course I get into all of the details during this episode so make sure to take a listen!

Game of Thrones Season 8 Episode 3 "The Long Night". Maisie Williams as Arya Stark.

This was the action I had been waiting for since the theme song started on episode 1. The first two episodes were more about character and story building than anything. We see the Starks reunited and the first meeting of Daenerys and Sansa. Jamie finally makes it to Winterfell and makes Brienne a knight right before the Night Walkers descend.

STILL A GAME OF THRONES

The actual battle was definitely a battle because it spanned for most of the third season. Thankfully there were some good character moments sprinkled throughout. It all led up to the Night King being defeated by none other than Araya. Fulfilling a prophecy or prophecies that Melisandre voiced throughout the season. We also so a few minor and semi-major deaths including Jorah and Theon.

While I’m glad for this battle to be over it does leave a lot of questions. We know that Cersei is waiting with her Golden Company army to take on the survivors of the Winterfell battle. One main question is will the upcoming episodes surpass episode three or leave a bitter taste in our mouths? The second biggest question is who else won’t survive the series? I’m not sure but I’m still excited to see how this series wraps up.
