It’s a new year and you made it! With the new year brings a host of new content to enjoy. As usual we’ll be spotlighting this year’s flicks on Glam DEETS and I thought it’d be the perfect time to share my personal top ten must-see movies for this year. It’s also kind of like a peek at some of the movies we’ll be talking about on the podcast as well. In no particular order (kind of), check them out below!

The Avengers: Age of Ultron | May 1

I mean, who’s not excited about this movie? The Avengers are back, post SHIELD disbandment, facing off against Ultron and ish is sure to get crazy. If the trailer doesn’t get you excited about this movie I don’t know what will.

Mad Max: Fury Road | May 15

If you’ve listened to a few podcast episodes then you know that I’m a huge fan of Tom Hardy’s work. They’re bringing back Mad Max and they have him and Charlize Theron (who’s pretty f-n badass) and I’m excited to see how this movie unfolds.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 | November 20

So part one of the final installment of the series got mixed reviews. I haven’t read the books but I went in expecting the movie to feel like a part one. Therefore I am ready for the conclusion of this series and to see how things end for Katniss and crew.

The Divergent Series: Insurgent | March 20

It’s no secret that I wasn’t the biggest fan of Divergent. I thought it was kind of slow and didn’t get interesting until the end. The trailer and articles about how the second film will be different from the book has me excited about the next installment. I still haven’t read any of the books but I’ve heard that it pretty much goes downhill after the first one. How do you make it better? You make changes so that people like me with no desire to read the books will come out to see the movie. Sorry book fans but I have a feeling this will be better than whatever is in the book.

Cinderella | March 13

Disney did a great job teasing us with the glass slipper promo for this live action film about one of our favorite princesses. They’ve released the full trailer and it’s got me even more excited to see this age old story on the big screen.

True Story | April 10

By now we’re probably sick of hearing about James Franco, but once I saw the trailer for this movie I got a little geeked. It’s not a comedy but a drama that portrays the suspenseful relationship between a journalist (Jonah Hill) and a FBI most wanted murderer (Franco).

Ant-Man | July 17

This is the final movie in Marvel’s phase 2 plan before we head into phase 3 (insert geeky dance). Paul Rudd is taking on the role of Ant-Man, the always great Michael Douglas as Hank Pym and a recent favorite of mine Corey Stoll as Yellowjacket. Not going to lie, I’ve got some pretty high expectations based on the cast alone.

The Fantastic Four | August 7

Not much has been said about the reboot of this franchise except for who the cast is. Again, y’all know I’m a fan of Miles Teller and Michael B. Jordan so I think, I’m actually praying, that this will be freaking amazing and better than what we got the first time around. Keep in mind I’m keeping my expectations pretty low because we still haven’t heard or seen much about this film, so hey this could totally suck.

The Last Five Years | February 13

I love a good musical and I’m a fan of Anna Kendrick (Pitch Perfect) and Jeremy Jordan (Smash) voices. I’m a little giddy about how this love story deconstructs… and it’s all done in song.

Project Almanac | January 30

I first saw the trailer for this film during the previews for one of the movies I saw last year. A bunch of teens traveling back in time and messing ish up… yea that definitely peeked my interest. Plus it’s produced by Michael Bay and I’m actually a fan of a lot of his work, sorry not sorry.

What movies are you looking forward to seeing this year? Let me know in the comments!
