We made it! Summer officially starts this Saturday (June 21) and we hope you’ve been easing into the transition. It’s the final installment in our yoga Decoded series and we’re ending it as a yoga sequence should be ended– with Savasana pose.

Although this pose may see quite simple, once in it you may find it hard to just let go and relax into the pose. In Savasana you lay on your back releasing all tension in your arms, hands, fingers, legs and toes so that you come to a relaxed immobile state. It’s recommended that you lay in the pose for at least 5 minutes per every 30 minutes of practice.

What are the benefits? This pose calms the brain, relieving stress and mild depression. It also reduces headache, fatigue and insomnia while also helping to lower blood pressure. Check out this week’s video, which is a 30 minute restorative and meditation sequence.
