Did you tune into the rec carpet coverage for the Oscars? So many great looks, I mean the Honorable Mentions are jam packed we couldn’t just pick five… more like eight! What were some of the trends spotted? There were so many strapless dresses that I had to add the hashtag #StraplessOscars to ever celeb spotted in one.

Many kept is simple with gorgeous elegant jewels but the carpet was abuzz with intricately embellished nudes and dark tones like black and navy. There were a few pastel numbers (hey Lupita!) and simple, barely there, lush makeup. All in all, it was about simplicity and elegance. Let’s get into our top picks below!

charlize theron christian dior oscars

Charlize Theron in Christian Dior

Charlize Theron takes the spot for best structure. Her gorgeous Christian Dior gown boasted a pleated sheer mermaid silhouette and invisible straps. This dress fit her like a glove! The elgant necklace, sleek do and rosy face completed this demure look.

lupita nyong'o prada oscars

**Top Pick!** Lupita Nyong’o in custom Prada

Lupita Nyong’o takes our pick for best color. She looked ethereal in a gorgeous “Nairobi” blue pleated custom Prada gown and an 18k yellow gold and diamond headband by Fred Leighton that was all the rave. As always, I love this color against her skin and love that she went with soft glowy makeup and a bold lip.

cate blanchett giorgio armani oscars

Cate Blanchett in Giorgio Armani

I’m sure by now you know what this category is for… Cate Blanchett hit it out of the park for our best embellished gown category! The intricate detailing on this Giorgio Armani dress is everything. Her gorgeous draped mane and diamond encrusted drop earrings complete this fabulous look.

sandra bullock alexander mcqueen oscars

Sandra Bullock in Alexander McQueen

There were a lot of dark tones and strapless gowns on the runway, but Sandra Bullock would have to take the spot for both. Her strapless Alexander McQueen dress was classic, but so worked for today. The crisscross pleated detailing and simple diamond bracelet added interesting detail while her side swept mane gave the look that wow factor!

olivia wilde vlaentino oscars

Olivia Wilde in Valentino

With quite a few celebs expecting, our last category is all about the bump and Olivia Wilde takes this spot no questions asked! As soon as she stepped on the carpet everyone started tweeting about how they wouldn’t mind pregnancy if they carried it as well as Olivia. She went with a bump hugging black mock neck Valentino dress and paired it with stacked bracelets and a simple white clutch.
