I don’t know if you’re watching the current season of American Idol (I’m not), but if you just so happened to have watched the previous season you’ll remember that season’s winner Candice Glover. That is if you lasted long enough through the back and forth bickering between Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj, but I digress.

Candice was one of the few contestants I rooted for, I mean that season had a solid list of competitors to begin with. After not watching for many seasons, I was glad I came back during a what I consider a strong season vocally.

Fast forward and I’m like what’s going on with Candice’s album. I must’ve missed the promo for it, because while on iTunes I saw that her debut album was released this week (February 18). For a debut album, a first American Idol winner album, this is definitely a solid R&B album. She sounds amazing and the entire feel of the album is one where you could just listen to it at home alone, riding in the car, just about wherever you would unwind.

You can feel raw emotion coming from each song and that’s part of what makes it a solid album. My favorite tracks are Die Without You, Damn and Kiss Me. If I had to rate this album, I’d give it 3 our of 4 glam sticks. Side note, I need for them to step up the promotion on this album, ijs. Check out the album for yourself on iTunes or Amazon and let me know what you think below!
