SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)

So ish got real real on Scandal last night, literally. We’ve been trying to figure out with Operation Remington was and I think Huck and Jake cracked it for us. But lets not get ahead of ourselves, let’s start from the beginning.

Potential Democratic Presidential candidate, Congresswoman Josie Marcus hires Olivia and Pope and Associates to help her keep her secret pregnancy from coming out. The team is sent to her hometown in Montana where they search and talk to the still living individuals who knew about the pregnancy. While trying to convince the baby daddy to keep his mouth shut, Cyrus White House aide Ethan shows up with a news team and Harrison has Cyrus pull up dirt on him to keep him from talking. The baby daddy doesn’t tell the news anything and Cyrus and team find out they’ve been “Poped”.

Huck and Jake have been tracking Rowan’s, Olivia’s daddy, moves and download files from his computer with Jake barely escaping being caught. They find a recording of Rowan and Fitz’s conversation and they find out that the president is heavily involved in Operation Remington. Fitz had Jake pulled off the street and they meet for a little one on one basketball. From this Fitz is definitely in his feelings about Olivia while Jake realizes Fitz knows he’s digging into Operation Remington.

While still in Montana the team finds the nurse who reveals that Josie’s mom kept and raised her daughter as her own meaning that Candice her “sister” is really her daughter. Olivia gets upset  and tells Josie that she’s going to have to publicly acknowledge her adoption. She warns her at the democratic debate that it will be bought up and it is and Josie tells her story. After the debate her “sister” realizes that she’s the “adopted” daughter and Josie fires Olivia.

After Jake convinced Olivia to get rid of the Fitz Phone, as soon as it rang she answered and helped prep him for the upcoming White House Correspondents’ Dinner. She attends the dinner with Jake and is summoned by one of the secret serviceman. She thinks it’s Fitz but it’s actually Mellie. She pretty much begs Olivia to come back and work on Fitz re-election team, saying that he’s pretty much a wreck without her and since he needs her, she (Mellie) needs Olivia too. Where the wife tells the mistress that her husband needs her and accepts this… I don’t know where they do that at but I couldn’t and I wouldn’t.

After the dinner Jake tells Olivia that he’s not playing second seat to anyone including the president. Olivia is summoned back to her office by Harrison where she finds Josie wanting to hire her to be her campaign manager. She immediately turns her down but Josie insists that she sleep on it. Olivia heads home and gazes over old campaign pictures of her and Fitz while she lounges in her Grant tee. This is what I had to say about that…

Back at Jake’s house, Huck has figured out what happened with the missing flights from Operation Remington and tells Jake. They find out that Fitz was driving the plane that shot down a passenger plane with Olivia’s mom on board! It ends with the two of them at Olivia’s door about to break the news to her. Ish is about to get even more real next week!

Some takeaways…

– Quinn is psycho. I was trying to give her the benefit of the doubt, but she done bought a gun and I’m a little scared at the thought of what she plans to do with it.

– Yes to Harrison being a leader in every episode this season so far! I almost died when he grounded Quinn; which was very much needed.

– VP Sally is trying to go rogue and run as an independent during the elections. I lived for the scene when she walked into the men’s bathroom to talk business with a potential campaign manager.

– I may be the only one, but I am not here for #Olitz. The previous episode had Liv looking like a fiend and not in a good way. Hopefully Operation Remington will put some much needed tension between them.
