SPOILER ALERT! (stop reading if you don’t want to know what happens in this episode)

The tone for the season is set as Oliver moves forward with his plans to help the city without killing anyone to avenge Tommy’s death.

Roy ends up detained after trying to take down individuals trying to steal medicine from a truck going to Glades Memorial Hospital. Roy is warned by both Thea and Oliver to stop trying to be a hero before Thea finally gives him an ultimatum; her or the Vigilante.

After talking to Roy, Oliver learns that the medicine being stolen was for Memorial Hospital to help those in The Glades who can’t afford it. He, Diggle and Felicity get to work tracking the group trying to steal the meds. At the first attack, he finds out it’s China White and she has a new partner, Bronze Tiger, and a fight scene ensues. The police show up and swarm the place shooting Oliver in the leg just before he escapes.

Oliver pays Laurel a visit as “The Hood/Vigilante/Arrow” to try to get her back on his side. He learns that Laurel blames him (The Hood/Vigilante/Arrow) for Tommy’s death and will stop at nothing to bring him down. In the midst of all of this, Oliver’s (in his normal life) integrity and concern for the people of The Glades is challenged by the new alderman Sebastian Blood who not once, but twice threw him under the bus on live television.

Conflicting with a fundraiser that Oliver put together for to help the people in The Glades, Oliver and Diggle try to stop the theft of another truck filled with meds. It turns into another intense fight scene. Oliver stops the Bronze Tiger by tasing him and instead of killing China White ties her up to be collected by police.

Oliver reaches out to Roy as the Vigilante/Hood to enlist his help for future missions as his eyes and ears in the Glades. Of course Roy agrees and tells Thea that he’s giving up going out and trying to be a hero. He decides to pay Laurel another visit as the Vigilante/Hood hoping that recent events have changed her mind about him.He finds out he’s been set up and the episode ends with him surrounded by dozens of armed policemen.

Some takeaways…

– Did I mention that Felicity is by far my favorite person in the show? She served SASS and served it well this episode.

– I’m not here for Laurel and her misguided vendetta. I kind of didn’t like her the first season but now she’s really not on my good list.

– I’m excited that Roy is helping Oliver a little bit, because he was close to getting killed himself. With some training I think he’ll be a great addition to the team.

I’m anxious for future episodes and love how intense the season has been so far!
