I had the opportunity to attend The Makeup Show Chicago this year and it was amazing! There was so much information to take in, so much to learn that if you are a makeup artist or someone in the beauty industry, you definitely should’ve been there.

The Makeup Show Chicago 2012

It started with the blogger preview on Saturday where the fabulous James Vincent, a very talented makeup artist and the director of education and artists relations for the show, let us in on all of the tea. Some of the big news was that OCC released a new lip tar Radiate, a bold neon red as well as a new concealer line Skin Conceal. I had the opportunity to talk to the founder of OCC in part 2, David Klasfeld, and he gives us a little more info on these products.

The actual show went from Sunday to Monday with keynotes from amazing, talented people in the industry. I attended Billy B‘s keynote on Monday and he has such a wonderful and refreshing spirit. He was open, honest and real and gave great advice and tips based from his journey through his makeup career.

There were so many cosmetics brands featured at the show from Mac to Smashbox, Crown Brush to Bdellium Tools. Even AJ’s of Chicago, who recently premiered their new reality series Chicagolicious on the Style Network, was present. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I definitely recommend penciling this into your schedule every year it comes to the Chi.
