It’s officially summer and this is the season when women want to get that sun-kissed glow without the burn. Say no to artificial and sun rays and hello to skin that sparkles, naturally!

Healthy, glowing skin starts with exfoliation! Your skin sheds daily and not exfoliating on a regular bases causes buildup that clogs your pores and can give your skin a dull appearance. Using a gentle exfoliating cleanser helps remove the dead skin while giving a bright, refreshed appearance. We recommend using an exfoliate 3-4 times a week with small cleansing beads that gently dissolve when rubbed onto your skin. You can also make an exfoliate by combining one part brown sugar with one part honey. Avoid over-exfoliating as well as using too much pressure. This can damage your skin and cause scarring.

A daily mild cleanser helps keep your pores clear of bacteria that can cause unwanted breakouts. Washing your face in the morning and before bed helps fight bacteria that your face may encounter throughout the day and while sleeping. Moisture, moisture, moisture is a must! Dry skin cause premature wrinkles and rough skin. Keep your smooth and soft by applying a moisturizer that fits your skin type. Skin types can be categorized into dry, oily, combination and sensitive. Many moisturizers will list what its main function is. Choose one that fits your needs and try to add a little variety. Don’t stick to the same moisturizer year round, choose one that fits your needs for the current season or switch every 3-6 months.

It doesn’t matter what your ethnicity, skin color or gender; sunscreen is a MUST! Exposing your skin to harsh sun rays can cause long-term damage to your skin, which includes premature wrinkling and sunspots. You can find sunscreens that are light and great for everyday without the stinky sunscreen smell. Purchase a sunblock with at least SPF 15, the higher the better.
