We recently introduced our new financial series, Glam on a Budget, now it’s time to officially put your money where your mouth is. Before we dive into this month we want to give you a few tips to help you successfully set aside your fashion budget each month.
♦ Set up your budget at least a week prior to the next month.
♦ What do you need? This is especially important for those who have a smaller budget to work with. This will eliminate overspending and the accumulation of unnecessary things.
♦ Comparison shop before you buy. Since it’s easy to find a store online, you can usually see what their prices are before you shop. This way you’ll know around how much you’ll pay once you’re in the store and you’ll avoid surprises.
♦ Online shopping can be your best friend. Many times a store will have ‘online only’ deals, which mean exactly that; these deals won’t be available in store. One issue with online shopping is the cost of shipping. There are many ways to cut the cost of shipping while still getting the better deal than going to the actual store. There are tons of websites that online shoppers use to help make great deals available for everyone. One of our favorites is retailmenot.com.

This month marks the first round of major spring deals. If you’ll remember around the end of January, early February spring fashion was very present in clothing stores. Well, more (and new) spring fashion is being shipped to stores as we speak, meaning a lot of those cute clothes from a couple of months ago are now on sale.
Just because it’s on sale or clearance doesn’t mean it’s out of season. It’s still in season, stores are just trying to get rid of it to make room for more merchandise. So run, don’t walk, to your nearest store and hit the redlines first this month. Check out our suggestions below under your budget category, lay out your plan and stay within your means!

We know, $20 is not much to work with, but if you stick to this budget you’ll see how easy it is to find great deals on gorgeous pieces, while building your closet. We suggest sticking to the essentials this month. Find pieces that can easily fit into various outfits.
Forever 21 is the budget conscious fashionista’s haven! Here you can stock up on camis, tanks and tees, plus a cute cardigan that will complete just about any look.
