Hourglasses have curves and shouldn’t be afraid to show them off, tactfully of course. The key word to remember when shopping for spring/summer items this season is FIT!

The flowy or big tops can enhance your figure in a negative way. Choosing tops that fit against your waistline help highlight your defined waist. This can be accomplished by buying tops that naturally fit the curves of your waist or by using belts to to highlight your prominent middle.

Showing some skin can be essential, like around the neck line or utilizing three quarter length or short sleeve tops, because it breaks up the top and minimizes the illusion of a heavy upper body.Too many ruffles or extra fabric on the shoulders can also create a top heavy look, so just keep it simple.

Since your body is naturally balanced your only concern is maintaining that balance by avoiding pieces that will make you look top or bottom heavy.  Some would argue that high waist pants should be avoided because it can make the bottom look heavy, but high waist pants can look good on hourglasses if it’s a darker color and the fit is slim along the waist and hip line while also balanced by a lighter or similar colored top. Mid rise jeans are also a good option for hourglasses.

As far as good fitting jeans, we definitely recommend Levi’s Curve I.D. We suggest taking a look at the Supreme Curve line which is designed for women with a very curvy bottom. These jeans fit against your hip and waist line seamlessly without gaping at the back!
