There have been a lot of sales this month which means I’ve been browsing and shopping, updating my current wardrobe. While browsing online I realized that I actually don’t own that many pencil skirts and there are a lot of cute pencil skirts out there.

I can see how a pencil skirt could be a bit tricky to style– I mean it’s long and form fitting and sometimes doesn’t hide much of anything. Whether for work or night a pencil skirt can be styled in many ways that flatter your specific body type. I love a crop top and high waisted pencil skirt combo or a knee grazing skirt with an oversized sweater.

Not every skirt is created equally nor should they all hit the knee. If you have shorter legs, like me, a pencil skirt that hits about two inches above the knee paired with pumps will give you a long lean look. If you want to hide your middle go with a looser fitting blouse or a sweater. Want to tuck it? Pair a printed pencil skirt with a tucked buttoned denim shirt and layered necklaces.

The possibilities are pretty much endless! It’s just all about knowing what works for your body. Check out some of my pencil skirt picks below!
