fitness 2015 goals meditate aspirations
It’s another year and working out is probably on the top of your resolutions/goals list. Heading to the gym can be a little bit overwhelming especially if you’re adding it to your routine. The gyms are filled with people ready to take on their fitness goals head on and that can be a little (or a lot) overwhelming. It can be easy to get discouraged but if you stick with me we’re going to kick those fitness goal’s butts… or something like that.

This year my approach to my personal fitness is a tad bit different. Previously I focused on working on certain areas of my body or following some type of fitness crave. This year I’m all about I want to focus on creating a clean and nourishing lifestyle. With that being said I have some affirmations that I plan to continually remind myself of when it comes to working out.

Breathe

Y’all know I love me some yoga and a big part of yoga is breathing. Not gonna lie, this has been something I’ve struggled with but when I do breathe it’s like I’m experience something on another level. No matter what your fitness goals look like remember to breathe!

Focus

I know I’m not the only one who tries a workout, doesn’t see results then moves on to the next thing. Yea you too? I plan to remind myself to focus. What about a particular exercise do I enjoy, what am I trying to accomplish, how can I stay on track? Focusing is essential if you want to do this thing long term.

Be in the moment

This is actually one of my affirmations for the year in general– be in the moment. I am a speed walker. I like to do things fast and sometimes I don’t stop to enjoy what I’m actually doing. I don’t take the time to stop and breathe, focus. Those previous affirmations tie into this important one. If you plan to run a 5K or marathon, don’t let the training overwhelm you. Enjoy the little moments. If you plan to do more outdoor fitness classes this summer, enjoy working out in the grass with the sun shining. Enjoy not just the big things, but those little things too.

How will you incorporate these affirmations into your fitness routine for the year? Let me know in the comments!
