Your post workout snack or meal is the most important in your routine (in my opinion). This is where you can replenish your muscles and get back some of that energy exerted during your workout. When I snack after a good sweat I like to go for something simple and easy to throw together, making sure there’s a little protein somewhere. Check out these simple vegan-friendly post workout snacks below!

Apple & Peanut Butter

This is a no brainer and probably my number one go-to. There’s just something about the crispiness of a cold, juicy apple with the smooth texture of peanut butter. It’s packed with protein and also targets any sweet cravings you may have.

Protein Smoothie

Whether you like your shakes green or with a lot of color a smoothie is a great way to pack in the protein and other refueling nutrients. I like to go with a lot of fruit and a little green. Use almond milk for a heavier shake or go with coconut water to get some extra electrolytes.

Hummus & Tomatoes

This is such a delicious combination that I’m kind of mad I just recently tried this combo over the summer. Go with yellow sunburst tomatoes for a legit party in your mouth… like no joke.

Avocado Toast

Avocado is packed to the hilt with protein and there are so many ways to eat it. For a quick snack a toasty piece of wheat or Ezekiel bread topped with slices of avocado and a little salt and pepper is heavenly!
