The most important meal of the day is the first one– breakfast! Breakfast is important for multiple reasons including kicking your metabolism into gear and giving you a dose of energy. With somewhat warmer weather finally kicking it, I wanted to share some of my favorite morning smoothies.

I usually drink them over a two hour period, so I’m pretty much satisfied until lunch. Not that each smoothie can be customized to your liking. You can also add protein powder and a handful of leafy greens (I prefer spinach for blending). Check out the nutrient packed recipes below!

Kicking Orange Dreamsicle Smoothie

Blend 1 peeled orange, 2 bananas, 2 teaspoons of flax seeds, 2 dashes of cinnamon, about 5-7 cubes of ice and almond milk. Fill the milk until it passes above the fruit or use the measurements on the side and fill pass 24oz.

Strawberry Banana-nana

Blend 2 full bananas, 4-5 frozen strawberries, 2 teaspoons of flax seeds and 1.5 tablespoons of smooth natural peanut butter with unsweetened almond milk. Fill the milk until it passes above the fruit or use the measurements on the side and fill pass 24oz.

Mango Banana-Yum

Blend 2.5 bananas, 1 mango, 2 teaspoons and almond milk. Fill the milk until it passes above the fruit or use the measurements on the side and fill pass 24oz.e.

Each recipe makes enough to fill a 24oz cup. Be sure to blend until smooth and creamy, the mixture should easily pour into your cup.
